Unfinished
a carnival feast plays our ears
the beast begins to prey
on little darling girls with tears
fresh in their coffins lay

the town lovers lay in their
adulterous beds
their lips caked with the spit
of someone they love instead

a carnival curtain dispells the myths
what man would commit such a crime
eat the entrails of girls with smiles on their lips
feed the rest to the sea at high tide

the town bakers lay their
apple pies onto the windowsills
their lips caked with the dust
of memories lingering, still
