Poem about the problems that can occur when making christmas cookies.
A Christmas Cookie Disaster

Baking soda, flour, and vanilla all around,
But not a bit of sugar can be found.
The Christmas party is tonight,
And I have not a minute to sit tight.

I told my dad to run to the store,
But he comes home and spills the sugar on the floor.
My cookie dough is sticking to the bowl,
Like butter sticks to a roll.

I decide to used powdered sugar instead,
It should work like my dad said.
It turns out that he was wrong,
Because my cookies turned out like a sad song.

They looked as bad as my Aunt Sally’s clothes,
But at least they weren’t as bad as her toes.
Next time I should check for sugar first,
Or next Christmas they could turn out the worst.
