Babies are quite a handful
The pitter-patter of little feet
Is surely a sound that’s hard to beat.
They’re referred to as a bundle from heaven,
A mistake you’d make again and again.
Of course you love them with all your heart,
The first few years you’re hardly apart.
From the outside looking in,
You’d never know what happens within.
They scream, they cry, and always shout,
If they don’t get their way, they sit and pout.
There’s never any time just to be you,
It’s a hard and rough time just to get through.
In the end it’s all worth it as you watch them sleep,
Realizing the hardship is only skin-deep.
So go ahead, say you have the perfect little angel,
And for all the hard times, just sit and be thankful.
