My idea of a dying mans last thoughts and feelings.
A loud crash somewhere nearby made me turn my head. For some reason my movement was sluggish and restricted but I could just see a silhouette moving away from me,quickly. All the strength seemed to have gone from my legs and I sank to my knees. Suddenly an agonizing pain surged through my body and slowly my clothes became sticky and damp. I felt down too my stomach and when I brought my fingers back up they where coated with deep red blood. With sickening realisation I looked down at a jagged red gash in my stomach. I slid onto my back and a small pool of blood formed around me as my life dripped away,my very soul slipping through my grasping fingers like smoke.

I tried to lift my head up but it felt as though it were made of lead. Gratefully I realised that a sense of numbness was spreading along my body, masking the searing pain from me. In the distance I heard someone scream, but that didn't matter now. Heads of strangers appeared in my vision, and slowly it clouded over, blackening and growing darker until I succumbed my eyesight to the opressing oblivian. But none of it mattered now. Now I could rest. Now I am at peace.
