Is Amelia's life ever going to be normal?
I stood there in shock for a moment.
Something about him was familiar, his touch, his voice. I let out a sigh and resheath my knives.
" Cash! School!" I yelled up the stairs.
I watched him slide down the rail.
" Smooth." I said as he landed.
" Who was that?"
" No one."
" That your boyfriend?" He asked suspiciously.
" Hell no."
" Don't say hell." My mother butted in.
" Where the hell have you been?" I asked.
" Out. I had some things to take care of."
" Why do I never see you?"
" None of your business. I have a right to my privacy." She then vanished into the living room.
" Alrighty then." I said turning away.
We left the house and got into Cash's car.
" So what's your boyfriend's name?"
" He's not my boyfriend. And it's, Shaughn or something."
" Or something?"
" Okay, it's Shaughn. What's the big deal?"
" Just being the big brother like you wanted me to." He said with a smirk.
He stopped at the front doors.
" Bye big brother." I said sweetly.
I could hear him laugh as I walked off.
" Hello beautiful."
I looked over to see a cute emo guy standing next to me.
" Uh, hi?"
" Ah, I'm Joe." I shook his hand.
" I'm.."
" Raven."
" Yeah. How'd you know that?"
" Word spreads fast. All I heard yesterday was, the new girl passed out." He paused a moment. " So, what happened?"
" Uh, I guess I didn't get enough sleep."
" Right. You got enough sleep last night right."
" Yeah. I'm not passing out today." I smiled.
His soon faded away. " I gotta go. Bye."
He quickly left my side.
What teh hell was that about?
I walked to class alone. Everybody seemed to shrink away from me. Is this how all schools treated the new girl?
Whole first period went smoothly. Nicholas wasn't there.
" Excuse me, but do you have an Amelia Raven in class?" The lady over the intercom asked.
All the kids stared at me.
" Yes I do." The teacher answered.
" Can you please send her to the office?"
I stood and left before he had a chance to answer.
I walked down those deserted hallways along once again.
I entered the office and it wasn't much difference. The only sound came from the clicking of the keyboard.
" You Amelia?"The woman asked, taking her eyes off of the computer for a split second.
" Yep." I said with the same amount of enthusiasm, none.
She pointed to the principal's office.
What could I have possibly done already?
" Please have a seat." An older fellow said as I closed the door.
I took the seat in front of his desk. He stuck out his hand happily, " Principal Jones."
" Amelia Raven." I said smiling back.
" Okay, now to get down to business. I heard you passed out yesterday, and your boyfriend took you home. Now, I know..."
" Woah woah woah." I said shaking my head. " Yes, I passed out, but that guy was NOT my boyfriend."
" That's not what he was telling us."
" Great." I muttered." Uh, can I go back to class now?"
" Yes."
I stood, and at that exact moment, the bell rang.
I exited into the now overly crowded hallways.
I tensed as I felt someone's hands slither around my waist. I was then pushed against a locker.
" Don't make a scene." Nicholas whispered into my ear.
I didn't.
" So you do like me?" He said with a smile.
" You wish." I spat.
" Why are you with a girl like that?" Some snobby blonde, most likely a cheer leader, asked.
We looked over, him, never loosing his grip.
" Yeah, a girl like that is much better for you." I grabbed his hands and tried to pry them off.
He smiled at me. " You're not getting rid of me that easily."
" Damn."
The warning bell rang and the hallways instantly began to clear out. Nicholas let go of my waist and began to walk away. I quickly grabbed his wrist. he turned to me and I pulled him down so I could whisper in his ear.
" I need to talk to you."
He leaned back and looked at me. " We're supposed to be in class."
" I don't care." I said pulling him out the side doors.
I had every intention to kill him, or interagate him.
" Why did you say you were my boyfriend?" I chose the second, for the moment.
He cracked a smirk, but didn't say a word.
