Description of myself as if I was a pilgrim from the prologue of The Canterbury Tales.
Reserved, respected, having always a yearning,
A Writer was among us who had a desire for learning.
She wanted to find herself-to learn something merely
She didn't want what others wanted while going on this journey.
She looked confused anxious, and her face read "doubt"
She didn't know why she was on this journey
But she was destined to find out.
You could see just by looking at her she was always in thought
You could assume that she had something to say, but perhaps not.
She loved to watch the stars at night
Her acquaintances would look at her strangely as if to say "Why does this bring you delight"
“When I ponder of words like forever and eternal
My mind goes in circles- for it is nothing that is tangible.
When I gaze at the sky I can see everything so much
The words forever and eternal, are something that I can touch.
A sensation arouses that brings me no dread
I can see God’s creation, and glorious days ahead”
She was rather content to a person’s eyes,
But her writing would tell you otherwise.
She thought she desired the approval of most that were being
Educated, sophisticated, well known widely- but then seeing
The inhabitants of the world and on the journey were not very equal
In their morals perhaps she needed to be approved
By something that is more wonderful than all the people.
But all serious she had seemed
She had somewhat of a humor up her sleeve.
She lived in the south for a time rather lengthy,
Though her wit and her sarcasm proved she was raised by dry Yankees.
Her standoffish behavior was genuinely unintended,
She found more of an art for listening than voicing her opinion.
When her mouth would open to say something “clever”
She was often misunderstood one way or the other.
It resulted in the perception that she was naïve
But that perception is rather small minded, I believe.
Her philosophy was realistic in every situation
But it was her realism that won her a pessimistic reputation.
Devout in her ideas, and firm in her beliefs
She had some interesting opinions about the world and living in “peace”
Living of the world and under influence was not her objective.
In the world was where she lived, and only by God’s perspective.
