A poem about meeting my soulmate.
THE FIRST DATE: 4-26-98

I had been invited to a place where I hadn't been before.
It led me to fatefully meet an invitingly sexy man who filled the door.

A group of six of us that night we did dance, laugh, and have so much fun,
Luckily, that sexy man asked me out before I had to run.

He'd inquired for a date, catch a movie and dine, that next afternoon.
I accepted, so excited,no it wasn't too soon!

Finally, it was the next day, he whisked me away to a bigger town,
Where he first stopped at a going-out-of-business sale and I followed him around.

He'd bought all-cotton dress socks to fit his size fifteen feet,
Plus, a leopard-print comforter with a set of matching sheets.

I didn't mind following him as he shopped since I was enjoying just seeing his
  sexy ass,
What can I say? That opportunity was just too delicious to let pass!

Soon he took me for Oriental cuisine without asking what I might've thought,
I'd never eaten such fare so there wasn't much that I'd got.

He'd been told previously, I'd later found out, that Chinese food was what
  I liked best,
I informed him they'd been wrong and how lucky he'd been for me to attempt
  that first taste test!

Time has passed as we've been married for eight wonderfully spent years
although our first date makes it year number nine,
Yet, I still can't believe how lucky we were to have met even though he did
take me out for Chinese that very first time!

**Note: I have become a fan of Chinese foods now *Bigsmile***
