It's sad but true... I'm pretty proud of this, but I would love feedback.
Bed Of Nails

Lay me down on a bed of nails
With feathery soft kisses
Over star-shined lips.
Cold touches of crushed glass
cuts red paths down ivory flesh.
Breathing, screaming -- Crying
out for some salvation.

Let tears run down bruised cheeks.
Let the fire spread and
torch the ground
and kill all life around.
But to watch the world
tear it’s self apart
from the inside out -
through broken child eyes…

What could be more terrible
than to see the innocent
suffer because of us?
I hide the tears
to protect everyone else.
It doesn’t matter
what it does to me.

I resign to suffer in silence,
my greatest ability…
But now I’m falling -
Disconnecting from everything.
Me and the world --
We don’t connect.
Like the same side of a pair
of magnets - it doesn’t fit.

So pick glass shards out
of your unseeing eyes.
Let the blood wash
away the pain as you scream.
Silent tears tracing,
shining with star-like twinkles.
Red on ivory - skin on nails.
