A love poem dedicated to the woman I love
My Love

By T.D.K. Alailima

Oh, how I love you.

My hearts aches within me.

My mind fills with senseless drivel.

Nothing amazing. Nothing profound.

Just thoughts of you and how much I love you.

Every minute of every hour of every day,

I long for your presence, your touch.

I long to see your face, to hear your voice.

I want your love.

For me and only me.

You are beautiful.

The most wondrous beauty in all of the earth.

An iridescent pearl shimmering in this dismal, murky world.

A crisp, sparkling moon on a snowy winter’s night.

A seductive siren that calls to me out of the eerie blackness.

Gladly would I follow your enchanting summons through this cold, unyielding darkness.

You are the most precious treasure in the entire world.

I could want nothing more in life than to have you with me in both body and soul.

You would be all the food, all the shelter, all the light, all the warmth I would ever need.

You are my everything.

You are my love.

None other can ever fill my heart the way that you have done.

My heart, my soul, my everything, belongs to you.

Without you, I am nothing.

I am a mere outline of a once living man.

I am a shade, drifting through this plane of existence, searching for some kind of peace and yet never finding it.

For there is no peace without you.

You are my peace, my rest, my comfort, my home.

Without you, I am lost.

A weary traveler in life, meandering through this barren landscape they call living.

You are what fills that world with vibrant color.

You are what makes the images dance.

How can I not want to live in your world?

How can I possibly settle for any other existence?

You are my love. My heart. My soul. My one and only. Always and forever.

That will never change.

I love you.

And, that is all I have to say about that.
