Simple light humour
I threw the stick across the meadow,
Then looked down at my canine fellow
Who instead of running stayed right there,
And then his words filled the air.
‘Listen here you, this game is boring
We’ve been doing it all bleeding morning
And I think I’m just about to crack
Don’t throw the stick if you want it back!’
I stuttered and began to say
‘It’s just a normal doggy game?’
‘But this really does take the mick
I’ve fetched that darn bloody stick
Two hundred thousand times today
And still you throw it further away’
And so the stick was left alone
And the dog wondered off home.
