Life's temptations
The apple sits alone, beckoning me
slurring my thoughts
It creeps in slowly
diminishing my soul
Without a care, it shatters
my being

My image is gone
My heart bleeds
my body becomes limp
and my spirit dies

My crooked mind tries to focus
as I struggle to feel life
to find what's left of me

But the despair swallows my
broken existence
The pain whips around me like an
unleashed cobra
The venom slithers through my veins
like violent clouds colliding
slamming me against my will
as I am quietly tossed into
it's abyss
