soldiers, war, fighting, crying, living, dying
He stood there holding his gun by his side
Wearing his uniform
He represented freedom
He fought for his family
He fought for strangers
He fought for his country
Standing there as the sounds of gun shots sounded
Representing those that died
He thought about his wife
He thought about his children
He was relieved that he was one of the lucky few
That would come home to his family
One of the lucky few that would live the free life
That he fought for
He hurt inside of all the unfortunate that could not do this
Those that had died on the battlefield
Those families that stood with him today
Crying tears of sadness
That they didn't even get to say goodbye to their loved ones
Hurting for the lives that were ruined by this war
Hurting for the children who would never know their father or mother
Standing there in attention
Crying silent tears for everything everyone has been through
Thanking God that he was one of the lucky ones
