Wondering how love can be war?
Dark were your eyes,
when I first gazed into them,
symbolizing your mystique, your beauty.
Dark were the eyes that symbolized my end, my ugliness.
We were bonded by chains,
formed by the links of a troubled past.
We both needed, we both were needed.
Time has tested us over and again.
Trials we've faced, and trials we've overcome.
Through your smiles and your tears,
we wage this little war of ours.
Through the good and through the bad, we have survived.
Our chains rusted and withered,
began to break link by link.
Maybe it was the abuse you put on me physically.
Maybe it was the abuse I put on you mentally.
In the beginning we were one,
in the end we are nothing.
And because our love was not steadfast,
I will be the one to suffer the
consequences of being alone,
whilst you reap the benefits of my belongings,
my friends, and my home.
I will be the one who has to start over
while you leech off of what was once mine.
Love is a test of courage and loyalty.
In the end we had not the courage to continue,
therefore our loyalty faded and we lost our war.
Love is war, a war against time, a war against life.
Some win, some lose, either way we all play the game.
*I grew up for you, I learned responsibility because of you, and now I cry because of you*
