Poem about the pull of death. Written by Drew Sheppard
The clock ticks
and seconds turn to minutes
Each steady stroke moves us
Until it owns our lives

The clock chimes
and minutes turn to hours
sitting still as the world turns
Until we've lost ourselves

The clock turns
And hours turn to days
A shell moving in routine
Until nothing is left of who we were

The clock fades
And days turn to years
A grasp so tight that it will not break
until our lives have passed us by

The clock stops
And time stands still
The life returns to us
Until the makers wind the clock again

The clock ticks
An seconds turn to minutes
ticking in time with the beats of your heart
Until both are one and the same
