A very dear sibling.
Donna

Ive been looking back, over this life,
examining the finer details.
Ive been looking back, and through memories,
realized you've been the wind in my sails.

It occurred to me, that not even once,
have i told you how special you are.
It occurred to me, that you don't even know,
just how high you raised the bar.

So i write this to you,
My dear, lifelong sister.
I write just to let you know,
How much, this last year, Ive missed you.

I miss the games,
I miss the walks,
I miss the drinks,
I miss the thoughts,
I miss the laughs,
I miss the talk.

Most of all, I miss you.

Don't get me wrong though, Donna,
we live in the now, not the then.
Don't get me wrong though, sister,
I'll immortalize those times with pen.

What I'm trying to say, is good luck,
the skies are opening for you,
What I'm trying to say, is look back,
and you'll remember that i love you too.
