Written on the 2nd anniversary of 911.
The day began just like all others
Nothing new under the sun
Suddenly tragedy struck
No one knew what was going on
Those in the area looked around
Trying to understand
One plane hit the north tower
Another hit the south
Intense horror and shock
Appeared on the faces of those nearby
In New York a blizzard struck
As the Twins came tumbling down
Those on the street watched in horror
As some inside jumped from windows
Sixty stories high
This day the world changed
It would never be the same
Yet the world saw for itself
Why we are called
The United States of America
