To my dad, who I love dearly even if he isn't around as much as I'd like.
I don’t know how I can say
That you’re the best dad ever-
But you are.

I don’t know how I can say
That I love you when I never see you-
But I do.

I don’t know how I can be
Daddy’s little girl when I haven’t heard your voice in so long-
But I am.

I don’t know how I can live
Without my daddy to hold me when I'm hurt or scared-
But I do.

I don’t know how I can learn
What kind of man is the kind of man that will love me like I need to be loved-
But I’m trying to.

I don’t know how I can love a man
When I don’t trust them because I think they’ll just leave like you did-
But I’m learning.

Daddy...
I don’t know how I can say:
That I love you,
That you’re the best dad ever,
That I’m daddy’s little girl-
But I can say that, daddy.

I love you with my whole heart...
I just need to hear you say "I love you too,"-
Wrap your arms around me,
And tell me everything will be alright.
I just need you to keep me safe when I’m scared
And dry my tears when I get my heart broken.
Daddy...I love you.
