A piece wrought in triumph through personal trials and tribulation.
IMPERFECTION

Eyes open, my life slips away --
no longer my own, white mixed with gray.

Seeking perfection came with a twist --
once bringing triumph, now making me sick.

The rudder is broken, the sea is now coarse --
a life full of sadness and empty remorse.

God grant me the mercy I’ve never deserved.
Make my path clear as I cling to Your Word.

Strife for perfection has done its work --
grounds to hurt me, Your Word to pervert.

Your grace gives me comfort as wisdom prevails;
my life is not over, You’ve given me sails.
