modern poetry
He watched them,
And he was gone;
Out;
He knew pretty well
What to say.

He's really tough,
Which was true then;
Alienated from everyone,
Unfeeling.
He doesn't sleep through as much.
He is in the daytime.

His bad side is as is,
That he was neutral across a
Relationship.
I don't think we had a different
Pattern.

He's not only
The same type of person;
He isn't in for as many hours,
Or months.
Some of them were their for good
Real selves, and maintained it;

Which I'd made up, for me;
I don't know if I ever lived up to it
Successfully before then.
It's who you are and will be;
You keep your package.

I guess it was the time away.
Ask him if I'm saving him from his past.
Not me.
He came to think of himself as delivering me from the wrong boyfriend for me.
He thought he was another wrong boyfriend, at best.

To give him the credit of suspended disbelief,
He took it as is.
He knew for certain,
He might have taken it for the same thing.
What both might have amounted to, to himself;
Was a land deal of its own.
