A poem of love for my country

Ode to America

Oh mother country
your flag billows smooth
With freedom and hope your name
Shelter to the down-trodden
liberty to all
you are a place of refuge.
Yet, you persecute the God who loves you.
Why?
Embrace your God,
And be all you were meant to be.
