A poem about regret
I have ridden on the wings of night--
A sorceress in my time--
And hovered suspended in the air,
Chanting forbidden rhymes.

I have danced on the rim of morning
And winked at the rising sun,
Stumbling over the horizon
Like a wayward vagabond.

I have seen my soul swimming in ice
At the bottom of a glass
And fled from the thundering horsemen
Whose shadows crossed my path.

I have embraced the league of demons
And sealed my fate with a kiss--
Knowing death comes not
On the wings of night
But softly in the morning's mist.
