For Dan's 16-year-old daughter, just learning to drive
In A Ford Taurus
"If you loved me..."
Artificially-sweetened breath
Soft and warm and moist
Against my ear whispers.
And my reply, "I do."

Unsteady silence ensues,
Broken only by
Shuffling movement.  Silence is
Shoved aside by
Wet, primitive, feral
Noises.  Hot breath fogs
Hearts and windows.

The awkward rustle of clothing.
Then after:  Clammy, falsely-confident
Hands caress; touches
That pebble my skin.
Unfamiliar sensations begin
In the core of me
And swing low.
Lower.
It is dark now,
When I feel him
For the first time
Naked and helpless as me.
The darkness is welcome
When two become one
And I am lost.
