Why can you do this? How can you do that?
Why can you close your eyes?
How can you forget everything we had?
Is it that easy to cease remembering the past?
Or does it dwell somewhere inside of you?

Why do you leave me behind?
How can you turn away so easily?
Am I already forgotten?
Or am I something that you just have to acknowledge?

For the sake of everyone else,
Never yourself,
Always the others,
Don't deny,
It doesn't suit you,

Never speak those tainted words from your lips,
Their sweet like honey but deadly like poison,
Your like a cure that's meant to kill,

Even though those words are all I want  to hear,
I must not provoke you,
I put on that fake smile that everyone thinks is real,
And when they ask if 'everything is okay' I just nod and say 'everythings fine',

They always linger and carry on asking,
If everything is fine then they should know by now that im lying,
Nothing is fine in this twisted reality,
Our fate is sealed whether we like it or not,

Some choose to escape,
The afraid and the weak,
I wish to escape,
But I don't want to leave you behind,

Selfish, aren't I?
