A brief muse on war's horrors and hopes...
Somewhere in time
soldiers raise guns to their eyes,
and aim despair into mothers' hearts.

Somewhere in time
soldiers set fire to rats,
and laugh as they burn.

But somewhere in time
a soldier feeds a puppy
amidst the horror of war,

And somewhere in time
soldiers set down their arms
for one day of shared peace.
