Poem to my grandmother's death two years ago.
Let me remember your warm smile,
Instead of your unintelligible whispers and your taken breath.
Let me remember the bright flowers in the windowsill,
Instead of your hospital bed and the IV
Let me remember the warmth of your embrace,
Not your cold skin and frozen lips.
Let me remember the moment the sun came through,
Not the dark clouds and raindrops.
Remember me to smile when I think of you,
Sadness is for later days.
