A classic gothic styled poem
Vain Salvation

The sinews of her neck
tear, as she screams into the
aphotic, devoid chasm of all that surrounds
but the feverish ardour of her words just fall
into the hollow- let her be pardoned from this excruciation!
the festering body of the angel
looks up at her through excavated eyes
she claws at it, desperation, nails ripping the bloodied gown
but it does nothing to respond.
It forgets to tell her it is already dead.
