how someone can hold on to another so tightly that they lose their significant person.
The hourglass is my hands
You are the sand within

I held on too tightly--
Hourglass cracks
Slowly
You poured out of my hold
Every Second
Every Breath Taken
Until
There was none left
Only the remaining dust

I held my form
Still gripping
Only on remains
Dust that cling to my palms
Dust that cling to the hourglass within

But they are only remains
Haunting remains
Of Nostalgia

Quivering at what must be done
Letting tears stream down
Into willing and unwilling open palms
Washing away the dust
Washing away the remains

Like the hourglass
There will always be a crack
A small unrepairable crack
Of mistakes
Of regrets
Of what came to this
Of bitter sweet nostalgia
