A poem for lost loves
We traveled to deserts together
These hellish precursors of the storm
Where only we existed
In the lonely infertile crescent
Heavily cloaked in a sun
We dared not escape from
I'm forgetting it now
This uncomfortable place
With its furious glow
A place I sometimes long for
A blinder to the soft treading
Of first steps on the sand
