My love, my beauty, my dearest Mariah. Such a glorious first year of many.
She is my drug--perfected
Benevolent virus infected
As I further inspected
I saw from old creeds I defected,
past I've ideals rejected
for I've intimately connected
Ne'er would I have suspected
deep in my heart would be erected

a pillar of l'amour.
Those deep eyes I could not ignore.
New plane, open door
in my mind, at my very core.
What once I'd abhor
now not a time I'd ne'er restore.
Secretly waited for
the chance to hear love's torrent's roar.

Now it is here
heard fully for a year.
Naught but great cheer!
Roar mighty in each ear.
No doubt to fear,
with her help, vision clear.
Love-- never mere!
Not a power more dear.
