I just wrote it, it's nothing special.
Steadying himself against a noble oak, the battered soldier rises from the dark underbrush. He shakes his head, hoping to clear the haze settled over his mind. As he begins to make his way towards the light, he cannot recall anything before his awakening. He wanders to the edge of the cold, dark, forest, and stands. The soldier chillingly snaps back into reality as he looks over his fallen brothers. The sky, tender shades of blue, contrasts the crimson earth of the battlefield below his feet. Aimlessly, the sullen soldier moves through the ground littered with the lifeless bodies of men. He collapses, a cloak of sadness settling over him as he begins to weep for the men lying before him. No thought of where their allegences lie, he is simply stricken by grief and anger for what these men have done to each other. His eyes drift upward to find the so-called enemy still alive. The noise he hears registers in his battle-scarred mind as a rifle being readied. Thoughts of home and his son go through his suddenly clear mind. The sharp report of a rifle shatters the silence the had befallen him. He cries out in pain as the hot, angry lead pierces his heavy heart and throws his wounded body against the earth, his tears twinkling in the sunlight.
