its kinda depressing, but i like it......
The Illusion

He beckoned me towards him,
Holding my hand, he pulled me closer,
He looked down into my eyes and
Uttered those three words,
No I don’t mean “I love you”
I heard his soft voice whisper into my ear,
“Be mine forever.”
And at that instant,
I knew I would.
Then suddenly,
All grew unnaturally silent,
His face dissolved before my very eyes,
And his comforting touch
Became all but a fading memory.
I resurfaced into the realm of painful reality
From whence I was thrown into the shadowy depths
Of my own wistful daydreams.
The thought of that blissful moment
Crosses my mind.
As I stood in your tight embrace,
With my head on your chest,
I could hear the rapid beats
of your satisfied heart.
At that moment,
I felt so safe, so protected that
Even the sky would not been the limit.
Which goes to prove that
With you by my side,
The impossible suddenly became easy,
And every moment
Became an uncertain adventure.
Yes, the silence said it all,
It represented
The inner acceptance of a feeling,
A love so strong,
That it was almost audacious.
Then, again, I realized I was sinking,
Drowning in my thoughts.
Was it all an illusion,
Or was it a silent cry from my shattered hear,
Begging to be put back together again?
But alas,
That is never to happen.
Why you ask.
‘Tis because
Those pieces have been scattered to and fro
Over the shore by the Sea of Memories,
And have steadily been washed away
By the Waves of Time.
But I still lament their loss,
For their absence left a hollow in my soul,
Where now,
Helplessness is steadily making place for itself.......
