This is one of my favorite poems that I wrote a long time ago.
O Earth's flower, most beautiful flower,
In this meadow where you live
My heart is thankful, my soul is grateful
For the fragrance that you give
I love to sit and watch you play
Laughing with the trees
I love to sit and watch you sway
Dancing with the breeze
I have been with you since your birth
And with you I shall remain
I have seen your roots hug the Earth
And your petals kiss the rain
O Earth's flower, most beautiful flower
In this meadow where you grow
My eyes grow dim, my chances grim
It is my time to go
But after I grow weak and die
Under you my grave will be
And for your friend, please, do not cry
I will still be close to thee
