The heart of the coward.
The Coward

As the coward rests
pondering his meandering thoughts,
he rarely comes to question
the willful battles he has fought.

Fear is the cowards worst enemy,
a bold grip on the heart.
Fight of flight,
you know the answer.
The latter will be taking its part.

The coward knows what he is,
where his little loyalty lies.
Reliance in one's self,
cast off with little thought
his inner strength, an early demise.

chemical is salvation
for men who have no honor.
Puffed up strong
a ticking bomb
of frustrated dishonor.

Arrogance shadowing self loathing,
always the stranger he is.
For the coward has no peers
and plenty of fears,
he wants no other to savvy.
