This is a random poem about my mom.
"He's my buddy."
She said on the phone.

"He's my pal."
She said in the car.

"He's my friend."
She told me face to face,
but that was the end.
The end of the friend phase.

Two weeks later

"He's my boyfriend."
She said on the phone.

"He's my soulmate."
She said on the phone.

"He's the man your father would've wanted for me."
She told me face to face,
but that was the end,
the end of him being her boyfriend.

"He's my husband ."
She'll say this spring.
The moment he hands her that ring.
