a storm begins......
A blind shivers,
winds pause,
circling like planes
above the western runway.
High tide is coming,
the ocean bleeds black.

SLAM - windows close;
lace and chiffon
draperies run,
wickedly askew.
Blankets are tacked,
Objects uprighted
pushed to corners.

Dense air
tropically warmed
descends with the waves.
But a cooler block ,
warring, as soldiers will,
defend
clash and howl
the skies,
like Greek Gods,
stars fall, clouds ignite,
bolts color the ocean in daylight.

Tomorrow, a man of weather
will reassure and explain,
how night turned into day,
and lace and chiffon
were so panicked.

This one was close.
