I wrote this when i first found love and we had our first real fight
Beating with steam
From the stack,
Began to chug
Down the track.

In my chest
I feel a thump, hypnotized
By diamond eyes.

Train by train,
Car by car,
I beg to know
How they are.

A lovely seat open
The connection was set.
It seems destined.
So there, I sit.

Out the window
Things fly by,
Forever gone,
Trapped in past.

Other seats
Behind,
Beside,
In front,
Each side.
However this is my seat,
This mate of mine.
My heart is content
Soft companion so fine.

For every stop,
That we make
Together we grow.
More we learn,
Every place that we go.

Each pause
Of the trains chug,
Slows our ride,
Tests our love.

Setbacks are these
Frequent stations.
To make it there
Requires patience.

Like wooden bridges
Are these stops.
But closer there
We have got.

Towed,
Pulled,
Brought,
And taken
On this long trip
That we're makin'.

But these breaks,
Like our fits,
Stronger makes
The relationship.

Stepping stones
Are each station.
Part of a stairway,
To our sweet haven.
