I'm not that lucky
I only joined to pay for college;
yet I’m sent to this new world,
where I am destined to die.
With no hope or future, only
hearing about death and destruction

What about those alive--
Those who never got to fight?
What about those who
broke a leg during training?
How about that hero
who gets recognition?

As I watch, my stomach wretching,
I know this not be my fate,
as the world turns black
I wonder why I haven’t turned back

I was warned not to go.
It's too bad I couldn’t prove my strength
and become that hero everyone loves.

Too bad I couldn’t be one of those alive
who never had to face the horrors of fighting.
