The Passage

The gates open
the passage wide

Go in          Go out
hard to decide

Whiffs of wind
swing back and forth

Tension rising
heart beats slow

Closer to the doors
you move with awe

The passage beckoning
calling you forth

The brightness blinding
the way unsure


The gates grow shaky
unable to move

The passage is gone
the darkness returns
