I had a lucid dream after breaking up with a girlfriend of sorts and had a song in my head
Lost Causes (Wake Up!)
-------------------------------------------

It happens.

You just wake up one day and everything doesn't matter.
You're tired of feeling down.

Nothings changed. Nothing has been filled or replaced.
The dreams and wishes just fade away,

and the days roll on.

Suddenly, all my memories of you become trapped in my treasure box.
Annexed away, and stocked like a library.

The thoughts slowly fade, and the world one day looks different.
No new hopes, nothing new.
You don't know what changed, but it did, and you've only got the option left to go with it.

Some things from the past will follow,
and other things keep their distance.
And still, others make the present your path to the future.

Shaky and anxious legs step out the door
Into the light, away from the life trapped in memories,
and life begins anew.

Without waiting to tell you that it started over.

My heart screams out from behind its own bars:
"I miss you, I don't want to go!
I'm still in love with you! Please, believe me!
Let's try again!"

But, those cries fall on deaf ears, and the body, no longer able to endure the pain,
picks up and moves on, looking back on that trail of tears that got you there, in that section of your life.

The body speaks out:
"Maybe she'll come back. Maybe.
But we have to go. It's obvious now.
At the risk of fate and destiny alike,
we have to go if we ever have a chance of finding out.

Say goodbye, for now. We'll be back soon"

I wake up in the darkness feeling strangely calm, and strangely fine.
Like a fresh page in my book has turned over. Pen at hand,
ready to write down whatever happens now.

Lost causes are lost for a reason.
You lost, she left, you both broke,
And as painful as it sounds,
Life moved on.

"When I woke, I was alive in somebody's room
I felt life and love and hope infesting my bones
Wake up!
You've got a lot of things to do.
Wake up!
The sun is rising without you."
