A poem on Domestic Violence
The house is silent
No one is around
She lays motionless upon the cold ground
Waiting to be found
She fights to hang on
To live another day
To see the light of the new day

He beat her till an inch of her life
And stood over her while stabbing her with only a kitchen knife
Over and over he told she was no good
She would never amount to anything
Her life flashes before her eyes
She doesn't want to die
Memories of happy days
Seem so far away

She can feel herself losing the fight
Being pulled into the blackness of the night
And than she sees it a far off light
Moving ever so slowly
She walks through the darkness meekly
Wondering if this place she sees
Is any better than this life she leads.

Peace washes over her
As she enters the light
Her spirit is lifted
She no longer has to fight.
