What I see when I look at my sleeping daughter
Softly rocking in the wind could be
seen the whispering willow,
with its shadow dancing back and forth across
my baby girl's pillow.

Her soft blonde curls cascade loosely from
atop her precious head,
as she lay like a fallen angel so
still within her bed.

From the doorway where I stood to watch
the willow's shadow sway,
I was enlightened to what the willow
gazed upon with each new breaking day;

A small, innocent and beautiful girl
whose eyes are a dazzling, vivid blue;
so much so that even waves in the clearest ocean
can't help but to be envious of their hue.

The hair that frames her rosy-cheeked
face resembles a halo of shining gold.
Her smile can brighten even the darkest day
and her magnificence is something to behold.
