A short poem of thoughts on the mishaps of love.
Look at this mess we’ve made.
Two coyotes barking shame,
as they pick up their entrails
strewn up and down the highway

between a thirty year old fantasy
for a girl who didn’t know your name
and reality of present day.

This is why I never invested on
white picket fences that rot
through seasons of sun and snow.
