The serpent which eats its own tail
Greed and passion devour life, devour time
Subsist on oil
Consuming the planet, the universe
Each pair of us in our own three legged race
With blinders on, connected to our competition
By steel cables woven from social nicety
And legal injustice

When the festival of crapulence subsides
Scavenging insects with reptilian brains crawl from the ashes
Greedily and passionately devour death
Subsist on carrion
Divide into groups based on appearance and ideology
Develop words for what we call hate and love
And build monuments to their own greatness
