Asking a question.
Long nights for
dreaming of the summer
for taking each forward step.

Long nights
counting out to weeks and months
followed by
vigilant days
for as long as my head could stomach it.

Glimpse of day
(Though in my heart)
makes darker the sun
by comparison.

Was that life that passed me by
a dull anticipation,
the path of least resistance,
a brilliant radiation
or one of Dantes fictive steps?

The world eats itself as it turns
Spews itself
Renews itself, eager to learn.

I asked for a better view
And saw
Hippies in a combie van
On a path
rainbow hewn.
