Written one night after reading about another childs lost of life.
Angel of mercy

The sound of his fist,
bounced down the hall.
The echo of her cries;
buried deep into the wall.

The angel stood over her,
with tears in her eyes.
"Hush my little one" she whispers,
as the child's soul begins to rise.

The child is beautiful, no longer
scarred from years of abuse.
She looks at the angel stating,
"Why, what is the excuse?"

The angel takes hold,
of her fragile, tiny little hand.
No soul stood up for this child,
neither a woman nor a man.

The child looks around,
what once was her bedroom.
It is dirty and filthy even
in the glow of the moon.

The sheets have not,
been changed in years.
How many stains are
from her blood and tears?

The windows nailed shut, no escape,
Not one toy in this child's room litters the floor.
As she turns she watches,
him come through the door.

"Get up you little bitch!" he screams.
The angel stating, "It is time to leave."
As they float towards a heavenly light,
she feels love and safety, never felt in her life.

She stands in heaven,
with tiny little wings.
Listening to the angels,
as they joyfully sing.

Her suffering is finally over,
this much she knows.
No more receiving bruises,
or broken bones. .

Her only hope is her suffering
was not all in vain.
The angels cry for every child,
that's in silent pain.
