Chapter 1: Sudden Twist
Chapter 1

Fry’s Electronic Store
5 pm

Inside the oval, dark glasses cemented to the ceiling contained PTZ surveillance cameras that had the capability to zoom in on an ATM machine, and get a crystal-clear vision of pin numbers that was put in by the customers.
Mike was wearing lightweight full rim acetate frame glasses. Behind the glasses, two pure blue eyes were fully focused on the custom made LCD screen that was positioned in front of him. After a moment of intense inspection, he held up his two-way radio and sent a quick message.
“Look to your left.”
My snake eyes quickly bolted towards a man who was creeping close to the glass case that was adhered to the wall. He was scrutinizing one of the memory chips. He appeared to be six foot tall, clad in white sweatshirt with navy jeans under it. He had a beanie on so it remained difficult for me to make a clear distinction of his face. I was prying into his belt that was cinched tightly about his huge waist; he didn’t look armed. In fact, he looked like a normal shopper. There were couple people in our aisle who were minding their own business. I was few feet away from him, and feigning as if I were interested in one of the video cards that was stacked on the opposite shelf with all the intricate gadgets. As soon as he made a quick turn around after viewing the memory chips, I sprightly turned my face towards the merchandise I was holding. My heart was thumping hard, and my fingers were numb. I had this murky feeling foretelling me that something bad was about to happen. I could tell he was impatient and very observant. My keen sense was signaling that he was the man that was controlling the project AF, Allah’s Fate.
“He works for one of the top jihads systemizing the underground base in city of Valjevo, which is in Serbia. He might be one of Al Qaeda benefactors. I don’t know what the fuck led him to Fry’s, but I know that it’s not a very pretty reason.” The voice transmission device that was plugged into my ears made a soft beep sound after that final word was uttered.
Mike brought his face closer to the screen to get a fine glimpse of this mysterious man’s face. After a split-second, a screen turned blank.
“Huh? What just happened?”
He quickly tapped the keyboard with force. Nothing happened.
“Don’t do this to me! Come on!”
All of a sudden, random green letters started to scroll down from the screen in speedy motion.
“Shit! Jack! Can you hear me?! Something just happened to my screen! Jack! Respond!”
Silence. He slammed the two-way radio to the ground and went back to the computer. No matter how much he typed in the codes that automatically resets the entire system, computer did not respond. Infinite number of letters constantly rolled down in front of him like water.
“What does this mean?! What is the point of majoring in computer science when I can’t even crack this!”
Instantly, everything happened really fast. First column of codes stopped streaming down. In the center of first column was a bold-lettered number “9.” Then, a second column stopped. Number “1” stood out among the codes because of the bold, illuminant font. Third number: “3.”  Then: “A” Then….
As soon as the columns froze in place and the remaining bold letters conveyed into a message, he instantly gripped his fists with fear.
“Shit”
The message read:
         911  Allah Akbhar!

He quickly went back to the two-way radio, and screamed at it, “They know we are behind their project! Jack! Get out! Jack! Do you hear me?! They know we are watching them!” It was no use.

My throat was parched, but my mental instinct was alert and ready. Very slowly, I tilted my head a little, and rolled my eyes towards where the man was positioned. Something didn’t seem right; he seemed a lot shorter than before.
         “Shit, he got away!”
Then. Who is this person? Without hesitation, I threw my hands to the person, forcibly turning him around and hurling away his beanie. It wasn’t him! It was actually she! She had a very short curly hair, but was wearing the same attire that jihad was wearing who just got away. My blood pressure elevated and I was beyond apoplectic. I abruptly brought my hand to her neck and squeezed it tight regardless of the fact that she was female.
“Fuck! Where is he!? Don’t fuck with me here”
“I…… can’t…. breathe…..Let me go..” She barely made that last statement. I released the pressure of my hand on her neck, and threw her to the floor. She gasped for clean oxygen. Her throat throbbed and her eyes were blinking like a deck of cards being shuffled.
I took out my Smith & Wesson: 9x19mm, Luger/Parabellum from my back pocket and instantly released the lever while pointing straight at her upper body.
“Now, where is he? You haven’t answered my question yet? You see? I already have enough shit to deal with. You see this gun? It may be small but the 9mm bullet in the magazine will enter right through your head, and that pretty face of yours won’t matter to the world anymore. Now. Answer me! Where is he?”
I seethed with anger over her void. From outside, I heard sirens resonating the entire department store, and slowly embarking louder than ever as the police cars paved their way into the parking lot.
“And why did he take that toothbrush? What was so significant about that toothbrush? Tell me! Or I will goddamn shoot you!”
Suddenly, a soft chuckle came out from her lips. And then, along with a smirk on her face, she gave out a loud, obnoxious laugh. It was very quaint, but it also triggered a sense of fear.
“Why the fuck are you laughing? Do you think this is funny?”
This time, she gave a louder, forcible laugh than before. Abruptly, she stopped laughing. She turned her head towards me, with her vicious eyes gazing right at me, and silently said, “You guys are all dead.”
         “What did you say?”
“You, Americans, are all dead. Americans. Dead. And you can’t do anything about it. You know why? Because this is Allah’s fate! You guys are too late. Too late” After emphasizing those last two words, she started to laugh like a hyena, breathing out menace! She was scoffing at me.
“Unbelievable! You son of a..” I instantly drew my gun. Then, two rounds of explosion penetrated the entire department store. I was the one who pulled the trigger twice; one bullet hit right on her head, and one pierced right through her necklace. I quickly scurried over to her dead body, and slowly brought my finger to her necklace that was bolted to her skin. I couldn’t exactly grasp the letters etched into the oval necklace due to the bullet mark, but my shrewd instinct told me that it read “Allah’s Fate.”  I instantly pulled it out from her neck and shoved it into my breast pocket of my black suit.
“What’s going on, Jack? Please respond! Jack! Are you there! What’s going on!” That last word ended with a soft beep.
Too many things happened at once, and I did not know what to do at this moment. Toothbrush! As soon as that image hit me, I instantly leaped over her body and made a grasp on the toothbrush that was clung to the board. I scrutinized the item carefully. This did not make sense. Why toothbrush?
         Beep. Beep. Beep.
Oh shit. He turned around and unzipped her sweatshirt. It was filled with chemical bombs with a timer reading 15 second.
Everything happened so fast. I got out of the isle instantly, and made a sprint towards the exit. I was counting on my head. 5. I see the exit! While holding all my breath, I was running as if my life was on the line. Actually, my life was on the line.
“Jack, are you there!? Do you copy! Tell me what the fuck is going on in there!”
All I could hear was the beep sound in my head. 3. I instantly slammed the door open, and screamed while I’m flinging my arms back and forth trying to alarm them about the explosion that was about to occur.
“Get back!!!” They all stared at me with stone cold fear in their eyes.
In a split-second, a penetrable explosion shredded the entire building with a huge echo bursting off. Gale of wind instantly took us down by force as if we were human pins.
