The Red Roses Girls

Part One: Vampire, Human, Goddess?
Chapter One: The Red Rose Girls

We were different. We always had been, the four of us girls. We were powerful, we were conning. And we always, ALWAYS got what we wanted. We were dangerous. People actually feared us, even without knowing our deep, dark secret. All we had to do was flaunt our big brown eyes and wave our black hair. It didn’t matter what we wore, we got our way. We were paralyzing.

“Did you see Jen lipping Mark today during Civs?” Thorn asked, picking the cheese off her order of cheese fries as we sat at a small corner booth at Randy’s Bar.

“It was so revolting!” Prick agreed as she chugged her soda.

“Revolting is the best you got?” Poison smirked, “More like I wanted to vomit all over that horrifying outfit oh hers.”

“Did you see those boots?” I asked, shoving a cheese stick in my mouth, “Can you say ‘Hooker’?”

“Hooker,” The girls chorused together before bursting into tears.

“Red is so not her color.” Prick nodded.

“No one will ever wear red the way we do,” Poison replied.

“No one should even try,” Thorn agreed.

“Seriously,” I replied, finishing off my cheese sticks.

“We should bite everyone who tries.” Thorn giggled a little to loud.

“Thorn!” Poison cautioned, glancing around.

“Ugh,” Thorn cried, pushing her fry’s foreword and kicking her legs up on the table, “This town is so drowning!”

“Calm down Thorn,” Prick breathed, everyone knowing where this conversation was headed.

“We seriously need to roll. I mean, I’m baking here. I need blood!” Thorn continued ignoring Prick.

“Thorn watch it,” I cried, glancing around to make sure no one had heard us.

“No, I need to get out of here. We can start over somewhere else.” Thorn shook her head.

“We can’t!” Prick whispered.

“Why not?” Thorn demanded.

“Not until Jeremy says it’s okay!” Prick whispered.

“Who cares about Jeremy?” Thorn continued, “I mean, we barely know this guy and we’re doing everything he says.”

“We need him as much as he needs us,” I told, “We agreed on that when we first started Thorn.”

“What do we need him for?” Thorn asked.

“For our plans,” Poison answered, “You know this Thorn.”

“We can take over the town without him, we don’t need him!” Thorn cried.

“Yes we do!” Prick and I chorused together.

“Why?” Thorn continued on her rampage, but Poison stopped her.

“Because with Jeremy we have connections.”

“Once we have those connections, we can get rid of Jeremy,” Prick added.

“And take over the town.” I finished.

“And then the world,” Thorn laughed, she seemed settled again.

“That’s why we have to complete this list,” Prick mentioned, “Take out our enemies, and gain some alias while we’re at it.”

“Kill a few innocents while we’re at it,” Thorn laughed, “Let’s go to Dolly’s.” Thorn suggested.

“What?” Thorn asked when she noticed everyone staring at her. “Jeremy never said we couldn’t have any fun”

“Lets go,” Prick laughed, we stood up together.

“Who’s turn is it to grab the tab?” Thorn asked.

“Mine,” Prick replied, throwing cash on the Table.

“Let’s split,” Poison nodded and the four of us headed for the door.

“Your not going anywhere ladies,” A voice made us look over our shoulders. We turned around in union to find three men standing in front of us.

“And what?” Thorn laughed, “Your going to stop us?”

“You see here,” The tall blonde on the left said, “My friend here, wants a dance, with you-“ He pointed at Poison. The three men were all tall, the Dancer was white, with black hair and entrancing blue eyes. The one on the right was skinny and had a scar on his left cheek.

“Sorry,” Poison remarked, “I’m not in the mood,” And we headed for the doorway.

“You better get in the mood,” Lefty said. Suddenly it hit me that at lead one of them was a vampire. I nudged Thorn slightly and she nodded understandingly. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the bartender, Randy, watching intensely. He waved his fist as a signal to us, his pink and index in the air and waving wildly. “Dangerous’. Then he just pointed his index finger. ‘One vampire’. He pointed at Lefty. I glanced at Thorn who nodded. Then he gave us thumbs up.

I launched myself at Lefty, Thorn by my side. With a simple roundhouse kick, I sent him flying into the wall. Thorn propelled him over the bar. Prick and Poison had dancer and scarface out with one hit. We turned on the vampire together. Prick pulled out her stake.

“You do the honors?” She offered, handing it to Poison.

“Gladly,” Poison took the stake and propelled herself over the bar and onto the man, “Nighty nighty tiger,” She breathed, ramming the stake into the vampires heart. His scream was cut short as his body turned to dust. She tossed the stake back to Prick and jumped over the bar again.

“I’ll clean this up,” Randy said.

“Thanks Randy,” We chorused.

“No problem ladies,” Randy replied.

“On to Dolly’s?” I asked as we linked arms.

“On to Dolly’s!” Thorn agreed and we did everything but skipped out the door.
