A poem I wrote a year ago when remembering my grandmother. I miss her and I always will.
A lullaby
To say goodnight.
A lullaby
To say goodbye.

The end of the day.
The end of tonight.
I can’t believe
This frightful sight.

You died in such
A sudden way.
I can’t believe
you’ve truly gone away.

Today.
Another day.
Don’t want to stay
To endure this pain.

So I’ll say goodbye
One last time.
And hear my voice
Echo in the night.

This sweet lullaby
Rings as we say goodbye.
This lonely lullaby
Sung as we say our final farewell.
