Husband looking down from the roof, was it far enough?

Wife glancing up, could she get there in time?

His note told of loneliness, sorrow, shame. They said no child would ever be possible. Strongest man alive but impotent.

Boys playing football, girls dressing dolls, children gathered around Christmas trees.  Treasured memories washed away.

Telling her, “Find another, fulfill my dreams. Never meant to hold you for life, unfulfilled."

Impossible that doctors were wrong, yet nurses confirm, eight months remain before a shinning birth.

Running now, figure silhouette above rooftop.  Tears falling, calling;

“Don’t jump, I’m pregnant with your baby!”
