Poem about first love
Rousing
Wordless thoughts bewilder my mind in a vain effort
To string together into a dreamless insomnia.
Efforts to never awaken from the awaiting delusion,
I watch the splintered silver kiss upon the soul
As it shatters into a thousand minute shards,
Leaving a youthful glaze of lust parched with kisses.
Fingers touch on a screen of sweet air
Passing invisible messages from love to lover.
Pupils embrace in a seductive dance
never missing a step upon the dance floors of your lips.
I fly on gilded wings to call out your name to Avalon’s hills
To etch it upon the golden gates so no one may whisper it without my consent.
The stars shine for no one but the being that is “us”
Entwined in a fruitless display of grass and skin.
Eden’s trumpets do not sound as beautiful as the lockets of your hair
Whispering in the spring rain as envious beads wash away the world but not my gaze.
Eyes like diamonds as I get lost forever in the creases of your palm.
Adoration carried on the winged stream flowing, ever flowing
Through the citadel of my heart, my bastion of devotion,
Vain efforts to never awaken from the impending insomnia called love
